Background
The client is an independent school for boys and girls, accepting children from ages 2-13. It is part of a global community of schools. It has extensive grounds in a suburban location and needed to upgrade its security and safeguarding systems and processes. Work was required across the premises including the main school, nursery, and sports field. The client also wanted a maintenance programme in place to ensure the system was regularly checked and serviced.
Securus Solution
We designed and specified a system to meet the specific needs of the school across its range of premises. The Paxton Net2 system formed the core of the proposal, with:
- A Net2 Entry Panel that combined a video door entry solution with a keypad and built-in proximity reader for use with fobs/cards or codes, allowing staff to use a fob for access while visitors must request access, which is controlled from a Net2 Entry Handset on the reception desk.
- Paxton P50 readers, with maglocks, exit buttons and emergency release mechanisms across other entry / exit points
- Paxton Net2 Control Panels incorporating 7 Amp Battery Backup Power Supplies
- 4MP IP HD Day/Night Colour Bullet CCTV Cameras, a high-resolution solution providing 2560 x 1440 pixel imagery and equipped with a fixed 2.8mm auto Iris lens.
We were able to incorporate elements of the existing hardware and infrastructure in the system design to help manage costs for the client and have provided a Care Plan which gives ongoing service and maintenance to ensure the system continues to operate optimally.
Outcome
The client now has an access control and security system that meets the needs and expectations of those visiting, working and learning at the school, with the comfort of knowing that the system is being regularly checked to ensure it continues to operate as required. We continue to work with the client to add additional elements to the system as the way they use their premises evolves.
