The client is a large international operator of outsourced public sector services and manages a number of facilities within a Hospital. Its existing CCTV systems and peripherals had ceased functioning and needed repairing and upgrading. The system needed to be robust and installed in a secure way given the location was within the public access zone of the hospital.

Securus Solution

Securus were able to provide a solution that retained the majority of the client’s existing CCTV system. We augmented this with a small number of new components to ensure that the system was able to provide the necessary security, whilst also being robust enough for a high traffic public location in a busy hospital. We installed two new Digital Video Recorders (DVR) in a lockable cabinet and replaced a small number of CCTV cameras within the existing network. We also repositioned a number of existing cameras to provide a more effective zone of coverage.

Our engineers undertook a detailed and thorough servicing of the existing cameras, cabling and associated infrastructure to ensure the whole system worked effectively.

All our work was carried undertaken ‘out of hours’ to minimise disruption to the normal operation of the hospital facilities. A full risk assessment, in line with the client’s requirements and our own health & safety policy, was carried out in advance of the work being delivered.

Outcome

The client’s CCTV system was brought back online with minimal disruption to their normal working practices. We were able to utilise significant parts of their existing system and infrastructure to minimise cost to the client.
